Goa Tourism roadshows in Lithuania, Latvia & Estonia


Anticipating an overwhelming response from the tourism trade and locals, Goa Tourism organized roadshows in the Baltic regions of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia from August 20th to 24th, 2018. The roadshows was comprise of presentations, interactions, cocktail dinners, lucky draws and a lot more.  Delegates representing Goa Tourism at the roadshows will include Mr. Nikhil Desai, Managing Director – Goa Tourism Development Corporation, and Mr. Gajanan Mahale and Mr. Dheeraj  Wagle from the Dept. of Tourism. 

 

Speaking regarding the roadshows, Mr Desai said, “The objective behind organizing such roadshows is to highlight wonderful Goa’s beaches, Eco Tourism, Hinterland Tourism, Heritage Tourism, Sports Tourism, Festival Tourism, Cuisine, Cultural Tourism, and a lot more. These facets display Goa as an all year round tourism destination. Tourists from the Baltic States would love to be in Goa and experience the festivities, year-end activities, heritage and architecture, adventure activities, spas, among others.  While Goa receives tourists from the Baltic regions, Goa Tourism is endeavoring to attract more footfalls by promoting the e-tourist visa facility which is available at the Goa International Airport in Dabolim.” 

 

More than 300 representatives of the local tourism industry and media attended events in three countries, they were able to learn about the many tourist opportunities of Goa. After the presentations, interactive communication was held by local residents on the streets of cities, thousands of Souvenirs of Goa were distributed. The Indian delegation visited the sights of the ancient capitals of the Baltic States. The Russian Information centre in India coordinated the event.

 

About Goa

The Beaches Of Goa. From the South to the North the length of the Goan beaches is 110 km and each of them is a unique, everyone will find to his taste: respectable beaches of South Goa with a large number of 4-5* hotels, and Northern beaches with their beach-shakes and entertainment. 

 

Adventure Tourism. Goa has taken adventure tourism to new heights with the operation of unique adventure services like Hot Air Ballooning, white water rafting activity,  trekking expeditions conducted by GTDC. 

 

Wedding Tourism. While marriages are made in heaven, Goa Tourism is ensuring that the celebrations deserve a place no less. The tiny state has become a big hotspot for weddings and wedding celebrations. 

 

Festivals and Events. One of Goa’s major tourist draws are festivals and events that are organized from October till May. Goa Tourism  takes  the  opportunity  to  showcase  how the  tiny state  has  diverse  cultures,  folklore, food and festivities. From annual religious festivals like Ganesh Chaturti,  Diwali, Christmas to annual events including Carnaval, Shigmo to conceptualized  events  such as  Grape  Escapade, Spirit of Goa and Goa Vintage Bike and Car festival and many more 

 

Music and Dance. Musical events and festivals take place in Goa all through the year and Goa draws lakhs of tourists who come to witness the authentic and traditional folklore which is showcased through various songs and dances. 

 

Safety of Tourists. Goan beaches are patrolled by 676 life guards and an additional 117 personnel patrol the beaches till midnight. Goa  is also  a safe  destination for  nightlife and this has  been  endorsed  by National Geographic in  its   listing  of  the  Top  10 Best Nightlife  Cities in the World with Goa  figuring sixth on the list. 

 

Connectivity. Since 2017, Finnair has launched new flights from Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius, which now allow you to fly to Goa with a very convenient transfer to Helsinki. The company's flight program will be presented at The event.
